Dr. Gisele Vermette

I went to college like most students unsure of what I wanted to do.  I was studying science with the intention of becoming a medical doctor, but somehow that just didn't seem like the right fit for me.  When my mother injured herself she went to a chiropractor and it helped her significantly.  I decided to look into it.  I was so excited to hear how chiropractic could help people without just giving them pills; I decided then and there that's what I wanted to be.  After finishing my Bachelor of Science I packed up my stuff and moved from Winnipeg, Canada and drove to Atlanta, to attend Life University the best Chiropractic school in the world at the time. After graduating from Chiropractic school I practiced in Georgia for a year before moving to Louisiana.

In 2002 we opened in Mandeville.

For 3 years we got really good results, and we helped a lot of patients.  However I became frustrated when I was not getting long-term results I was promising and expecting.  Patients were returning several months later with reoccurring pain.  That's when my search for something more began.

My search was rewarded when I found the Pettibon Institute.  The Pettibon system really combines the best aspects of Chiropractic and the principals of Physical Therapy delivering Chiropractic's promise of full long term correction.  A chiropractor that tries to correct your spine without giving you spinal exercises is like a dentist cleaning you're teeth and telling you that you don't need to brush them.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Albert Einstein- "Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them"  When it comes to your health, do you want to be an intellectual or a genius?

Dr. Gisele Vermette graduated from Life University school of Chiropractic in 1999 with honors after completing her Bachelor of Science in 1996 at the University of Manitoba. She & her husband, Dr. Paul Worsham, opened Global Health & Spine Center in 2002, renamed the Advanced Wellness Center in 2008.
